A flock of Canada geese take off from an area of the Grand River near the linear trail in the Preston area of Cambridge. Slightly after take off they formed their familiar V shape pattern and soared south. It is a great time for birders along the river as groups of migratory birds gather on the surrounding vegetation. I was joined on my hike today by a colleague from work and his wife. It was their first visit to that area of the Grand and it was great to witness their curiosity and appreciation of the scenes we took in together.
