Speed interviewing

You really learn how to pick your questions at the Swim trials.

Reporters get about three to five minutes with athletes after their race. And that's not much time to get a lot of information for your story.

Sometimes swimmers go for a warm-down before making their way over to the "mixed zone." This can be especially frustrating on deadline since some wind down for up to 20 minutes.

For what it's worth, here's a shot of me getting the goods from Cambridge native Andrew Hurd last night after he qualified for the Olympic team. Photo courtesy of the great Mat McCarthy.
