Honour roll: May Kotsopoulos

A new month means it's time for another addition to the Waterloo Region High School Sports Honour Roll. Man, that's a lot of caps. Maybe I'll just call it the Honour Roll. Yeah, that's better.

Anyway, the latest inductee is former Waterloo Collegiate Institute basketball star May Kotsopoulos. It took me a good two years to learn how to spell her last name but I've got it down now.

May was a tough and talented hoopster whose specialty was defence and slashing to the bucket. Over the years she worked hard on improving her shot and by senior year it was another weapon in her arsenal.

She was the undisputed leader on the court for the Vikings during her years with the team and led the club to several championships.

Today, she continues to thrive for the University of Vermont. She's in her junior year and starts for the Catamounts. She's also approaching the 1,000 career point plateau.
