Sabres keep on keepin' on

Another victory for Southwood's girls hockey team today out at the Galt Arena.

It has been a while since I've been out at the old barn in Galt. What a great place to watch a game. Spent some time talking to Aby Laking's grandparents who are ardent Southwood supporters. Gramps knew all the Sabres' game results dating back to last year. Gotta love grandparents.

Anyway, the Sabres got by a tough Resurrection squad 3-1 in a back and forth affair.

That means Southwood is 30-1 in the past two years. Just awesome.

As for the three stars o-the-evening:

 

1. Jamie Fox, WCI: The Vikes blank top ranked Forest Heights 1-0 in boys hockey, on the back of Fox's shutout.

 

2. Greg Chevreau, BCI: Four goals for Chevy, as the Knights drive to a 10-4 win over Preston in boys hockey.

 

3. Ben Reyhani, SJAM: Give the junior hoopster 33 points as the Clan ousts Huron Heights 61-40 in basketball.

Boys senior basketball conveners are Mike Mack and Rob Boug at Preston.

Girls volleyball convener is Sandy Fallis at Cameron Heights.

They should have up to date standings. You might try putting in a call to them at their respective schools.
