The 21st annual Saints Invitational high school hoops tournament has attracted another monster field.
The tourney, which runs Friday and Saturday in Cambridge, will feature 32 senior basketball squads on the court.
Local clubs include host St. Benedict as well as Forest Heights, Jacob Hespeler, Southwood, Monsignor Doyle, Preston, St. David and WCI.
Out of towners include Oakville Abbey Park, the Soo's Bawating, London CCH, Collingwood, Governor Simcoe out of St. Catharines, Guelph J.F. Ross, Chatham John McGregor, Burlington Pearson, Listowel, London Mother Teresa, Brampton Notre Dame, Burlington Notre Dame, Perth, Richmond Hill, Hamilton 'Sherwood, Guelph St. James, London South, Barrie St. Joan of Arc, Stratford St. Michael, London St. Thomas Aquinas, Brampton Turner Fenton, and West Ferris and Widdifield from North Bay.
Admission is $2 for adults and a buck for students. Or tourney passes, which get you into every game, are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Games run at Monsignor Doyle, St. Benedict and Jacob Hespeler. The final is Saturday at 8 p.m. at St. Benedict.
The Sabres have locked up top spot, for now, in Waterloo County with eight wins and no losses.
Even more impressive is the team's balanced attack. Several girls have two or more goals on the year.
