What a great guy.
Mitch O'Donnell, that is. The Cameron Heights hurdler takes a nasty fall, takes a few minutes to recover and is then able to talk about what happened and even have a laugh about it.
Mitch rebounded as he said he would today, taking gold in the midget boys triple jump with an OFSAA record jump of 13. 56 metres. He did it on his final jump to boot. Nienkel Paljola of Forest Heights took bronze.
Calvin Arsenault of St. Mary's also took gold, winning the junior boys 300-metre hurdles in 39.71 seconds. He ran the race just minutes after bowing out of the high jump event.

Ruben Larsson will be going for SJAM's fourth medal in pole vaulting today when he competes in the senior boys event.

Her result somehow didn't make it into today's edition of The Record (my bad) so congrats to Breanne Hutchings of Monsignor Doyle for claiming bronze in the midget girls javelin event yesterday with a toss of 35.28 metres.

The St. Mary's Eagles will play for bronze today in Niagara Falls after falling 2-1 to St. Thomas Aquinas in a semifinal game this morning at the Ontario girls quad-A championships. The Eagles will play either Notre Dame of Burlington or St. Anne of Windsor.

One notable absence from the St. Mary's Eagles roster at the Ontario quad-a boys soccer championship was striker Anthony Matarazzo. The talented player was suspended from the team after video showed he took part in the recent brawl between Eastwood and SJAM at the CWOSSA championships in Waterloo.
Hey Ponderer
If you missed it, this is a highschool sports blog so Mitch who broke the ofsaa (Ontario HIGH SCHOOL championship) record in triple jump the day after his unfortunate finish in the hurdles. So it is more relevent to this bloq than hearing about a guy sitting on his couch waiting to hear he was picked in the 19th round by Cincinnati. I bet Mitch Clarke doesn't care that this bloq did not mention it.

if you are going to title it mitch is the man then why not recognize the mitch that is actually doing something important right now. mitch clarke is waiting anxiously for his name to get called in the MLB draft do decide on his future as a professional baseball player. hes not some junior hurdler who choked and now has a story about him
