Playoff matchups are all but set in District 8 volleyball and basketball.
In the senior girls basketball circuit, semfinal games are set for Wednesday with fourth-place St. Benedict visiting first-place St. David and third-place Rockway visiting St. Mary's.
On the junior side, it will either be Pere Rene or Monsignor Doyle visiting St. Mary's and St. Benedict making the trip to Resurrection. Pere Rene can earn the playoff spot with a win at Rockway today.
The championship games are set for next Friday night at Rez.
In senior boys volleyball, Rez or St. David will have the unenviable task of opening on the road against mighty Woodland Christian, while St. Mary's visits Rockway. St. David can force a tiebreaker game on Monday against Rez with a win against Doyle today. St. David could have clinched that spot on Wednesday, but fell 3-2 to Rez.
On the junior side, Rez visits Woodland Christian and St. David goes to St. Mary's.
The finals go Monday, Nov. 16 at St. Mary's.
for the record, st davids beat doyle in five sets (3-2) with a final score of 15-13. So that means there will be a tiebreaker between my team and st davids on monday at davids at 3:30. Whichever one of us wins gets to take on woodland in the semis...fun stuff:P

LOL. I know!!! But well, I can't help it. Not only my son played for CHCI (and I made it to every game until I had to leave)... I'm from Argentina!!! Soccer is everything we know...

It might be tough to get there with the OFSAA field hockey championship in town and all three local teams kicking butt. I'll definitely mention the results in the blog and try to get something for the paper. Thanks for the reminder though.

Rez and St.David's were tied with points going into last nights game. Do you know who won that game because there are no results on the D8 site for this game? If Rez won they will have 16 points to St. David's 14 with tonights game still to play. But if St. David's won last night then they have already advanced to the semis.
