The St. David Celtics will defend their Central Western Ontario golf title.
With Matt LeMay leading the way, the Celtics finished in a first place at a two-day District 8 qualifying tournament that wrapped up on Wednesday at Doon Valley.
LeMay was the runaway leader in the individual competition, shooting a 5-under 67 to finish seven shots ahead of St. Benedict's Josh Thorne and Monsignor Doyle's Hayden Edworthy. LeMay also shot a 67 in the first day of qualifying last week.
Connor Doucette, Jacob Kozak, Spence Casey, Brendan Henriques, Jonathan Fuller-Handt and Jack Edmeades also suited up for St. David, which will compete at next Wednesday's CWOSSA championship. Teams from Resurrection and St. Benedict also qualified, while Doyle students Edworthy, Carter McKay and Jacob Whibbs qualified as individuals along with Sam K. (sorry, that's all I've got) from St. Mary's.
The Huron Heights team of Max Clift, Mackenzie Raines, Andrew Cox (pictured above) and Dalton Clifford won the WCSSAA boys title on Wednesday and will be joined at CWOSSA by Jacob Hespeler, SJAM, Grand River, Bluevale, Elmira, Waterloo-Oxford and Forest Heights.
Unofficially, the four individual qualifiers are Mitch Johnson from Southwood, and please excuse the last names only, Janson and Fisher from Preston and Turcan from Cameron Heights.
Feel free to send first names my may.
