The WCSSAA and District 8 spring leagues are in full swing this week and will be over in a blink of an eye.
Here are a few early trends.
These girls can score: Two games into the WCSSAA season and Kaylee Bruce has six goals for Glenview Park, Kayla Ambrose has five for Grand River and Charlie Ridge has five for Galt.
Kamryn Russell had a four-goal game for Bluevale but details of the Knights' second game, a 3-0 win over Elmira, weren't posted on the WCSSAA website. Madelyn Robbins has scored all four of Jacob Hespeler's goals.
Statement win by Highlanders: SJAM exploded out of the gates in the WCSSAA boys soccer league with a 4-1 win over Cameron Heights, the defending champion.
The Highlanders take on WCI in their next outing, Cameron Heights faces Eastwood.
The Raiders roll along: In WCSSAA girls rugby, KCI looks strong in its bid for a fourth consecutive championship. KCI opened with a 41-0 win over Waterloo-Oxford, the same team it has beaten in the past two finals.
Track time: District 8 and WCSSAA schools open their seasons today (Thursday) with the first maxi meet of the season at Jacob Hespeler.
