An undetermined number of Bluevale football players were involved in a fight at a house party over the weekend that led to one student being hospitalized.
Details remain sketchy but as of Wednesday morning, it has been reported that arrests have been made and players have been removed from the football team.
The football season will continue and the Knights will host the Huron Heights Huskies on Thursday afternoon.
WCSSAA officials held a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night and a source told me prior to the event that media would be contacted Wednesday morning if the football team was going to be punished.
That didn't happen.
On a more positive note, Bluevale's field hockey squad continued its run at a fifth straight WCSSAA title with a 5-0 win over Forest Heights on Tuesday.
Semifinals are Thursday and three of the four teams will advance to CWOSSA.
The District 8 final between Resurrection and St. Mary's goes at 4:30 p.m. today at Woodside Park.
The WCSSAA cross-country championship is set for Thursday afternoon at Bechtel Park in Waterloo, followed by the District 8 championship on Friday at the same venue.
