All week the cup handlers have been carefully carrying the cup wearing white gloves and keeping a firm hold on it. Sometimes for ceremony they pass it off to disciplined soldiers to transport the cup at events.

Then they give it to some sweaty hockey players after they win the tournament who, along with their butterfingers, drop it at the first opportunity. They're just lucky it isn't the real cup.
You can read about it in the live blog commentary on the final game.

Who will win the Memorial Cup?
Obviously, a tough call. The tight-checking, sound all-around Spokane Chiefs bring an unbeaten 3-0 won-lost record into Sunday’s championship game.
The hometown Kitchener Rangers bring a 2-2 tournament mark, a passionate home crowd and whatever mental momentum they’ve derived from Friday night’s 9-0 romp over the Belleville Bulls into the contest.
This is where the Rangers dedicated themselves to being from day one of the season. It is their date with destiny.

Jessica Brown, who covers the Spokane Chiefs for the Spokane Spokesman Review, is here in Kitchener covering the tournament and she is blogging about the Chiefs' performance.
Welcome to Kitchener, Jessica.
The Spokesman-Review website has a subscription wall, but she posts her unedited stories to the site's sports blog.
We'll see what she has to say after Sunday's final. Hopefully the Spokane paper won't just have the opposite headline as Kitchener's or Belleville's.

Talked to a member of the underground economy tonight on the walk into the Aud.
He claimed he was asking and getting $200 for a $65 ticket. And this Kitchener-Belleville round-robin finale is supposed to be a "nothing" game.
All tickets for tonight's game are priced at $65.
For the final, when tickets will be priced at $90 per, said scalper figures he can wangle $300 each.
