No big surprise here.
But the Kitchener Rangers sent their first round selection in the CHL import draft to Ottawa for an eighth round pick in next year's OHL draft.
Kitchener had the 54th pick, acquired via Plymouth in a trade. The Rangers still have the 108th pick in the second round.
I guess that means the Rangers believe that at least one of Tobias Rieder or Radek Faksa will be back next season, at the minimum.
Of course, neither could return if they latch on to their NHL clubs.
In that case, the Rangers would be on the hunt to re-acquire another import pick, or could trade for an import player.
