From freezing cold rinks during the season, to hot track fields in the off-season.
Gotta love the life of a reporter. Back from three days covering high school provincial track and field championships in Brockville.
The Rangers hired assistant coach Mike McKenzie the first day I arrived at the meet. This story ran earlier in the week, but I thought I'd throw it up here.
McKenzie, son of hockey guru Bob, is pumped to join the team. He was caught off guard by the hire, but is ready to put in the hours.
Steve Spott said he was going to put McKenzie in the press box for an aerial view and slot him behind the bench when the coaching ranks thin out in December.
I was told no one is leaving. I had heard a rumour late in the season that associate coach and assistant GM Paul Fixter had some bites and might be moving on to a new job. But when I asked Fixter, he said there was nothing to those reports.
