The Kitchener Rangers have until Thursday to get their OA protected list down from eight to four, as per OHL rules.
The team's list currently has Nick Czinder, Domenic Alberga, Jeff Braithwaite, Andrew Crescenzi, David Bondra, Matt Braun, Adam Ritchie and Jeff Paulley.
And if you're wondering if Braithwaite is thinking of a comeback, don't get your hopes up.
"I've moved on," he said. "There is no chance (of a return)."
Kitchener acquired Braithwaite's rights, along with forward Nick Czinder from Windsor in a deal for Juraj Bezuch in September.
Braithwaite is back at home in Ennismore and is taking the year off with plans to attend university or college in Canada next September. The blueliner is still playing hockey for his hometown Eagles, a single-A juvenile club.
"I just had enough of the OHL," he said. "I played four years and things weren't really going the way I wanted them to. I thought this would be a good change."
Braithwaite considered coming to Kitchener after the trade but opted to stay home instead. The Rangers have two of three OA slots filled.
