Despite losing four straight, the players and coaches still believe the Kitchener Rangers can turn this slump around.
Last night, the Rangers got two goals from Keli Grant en route to a 3-2 loss to the Belleville Bulls. Assistant captain Ben Fanelli says the time for talking is done.
It's pretty tough for the club to beat top teams in the league without its No. 1 goalie (John Gibson), best defenceman (Ryan Murphy) and top three forwards (Matt Puempel, Radek Faksa and Tobias Rieder). It'll be interesting to see how the team responds when everyone returns to the lineup in about a week.
Over at the worlds, it was Rieder getting the lone marker in a 2-1 loss to Slovakia. The Germans have yet to win, so that means Rieder will be the first one back to Kitchener after the relegation round.
Radek Faksa picked up an assist as the Czechs doubled Lativa 4-2. Jacob Trouba (Rangers property) continues to score for the U.S. The University of Michigan blueliner scored the lone tally in the 2-1 loss to Canada. Trouba has three goals in three games.
