I swear the Rangers save this stuff for my day off. Two trades done today. Expect more to come down the road.
As for today's pair? You knew it was coming.
With the focus on youth and the Kitchener Rangers struggling out of the gate, it only made sense, at some point, for new GM Murray Hiebert to maximize his assets.
Dealing Evan McEneny, one of the team's biggest chips, does just that.
The haul from the Kingston Frontenacs is solid. Defenceman Dylan DiPerna was the Fronts first pick (23rd overall) in the second round of the 2012 draft. A second pick in 2015 received replaces one the Rangers traded away to Sudbury in the Franky Palazzese deal last year.
DiPerna had three points in 20 games this year but is a real gem and will be a huge piece of the blueline moving forward.
McEneny, a Vancouver Canucks prospect, joins a playoff-bound team and can return next year as an overager.
