It was one of the earlier big wins for the young Kitchener Rangers.
And sophomore Darby Llewellyn was front and centre.
The 17-year-old potted his first OHL hat trick in a 5-3 win against the Barrie Colts, at the Molson Centre to boot back on Nov. 30.
Even better than the hattie was the big picture for Llewellyn. The three-goal performance was a small example of the huge leap he took for the Rangers.
The dual citizen showed the most improvement of any Ranger this past season going from seven goals as a rookie to 25 in his second campaign.
And while things slowed down int the second half - three goals in his last 19 games - Llewellyn's overall performance boosted his stock for this year's NHL draft.
