After you've opened your presents and eaten your share of turkey, click on over to this story on the Los Angeles Times website and scratch your head with amusement.
Apparently, the University of California Berkeley campus police have had it up to here with irresponsible bicycle riders and have taken to ticketing them for any number of infractions. Chaining their bikes to railings. Forgetting to put a foot down at stop signs. That sort of thing.
And the fines -- weighing in at more than $200 -- are higher in some cases than the fines levied against motor vehicles.
The uproar over this has spawned a Facebook group and the above-mentioned LA Times article. It will be interesting to see if the campus police back off a bit.
