Couple of product recalls of interest to cyclists include more than 30,000 bicycle helmets sold by retailers and online between August 2006 and November 2011. Check here for details from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The voluntary recall for the Chinese-made helmets was issued today. The CPSC said that the helmet was found to provide insufficient protection in the event of a fall.
The Little Tricky helmets were sold as all-purpose children's sport helmets, but mainly as bicycle helmets.
Also, the CPSC announced Wednesday the voluntary recall of 2,900 sets of bicycle pedals -- brand name 2011 Forte Pro Carbon Road Pedals. The main issue with the Taiwan-made pedals was that they could snap off in use. And we know what that means. Check here for details of the recall.
