According to this report from the Welland Tribune, three cyclists were struck late Tuesday night while out for an evening ride in suburban Welland.
According to the report, one of the three cyclists fell off her bike, and when the other two male cyclists turned around to come to her assistance, the three were struck by a 68-year-old man driving a pickup truck.
The woman has life-threatening injuries. There won't be any word on charges until the conditions of the three victims are clear.

Welland always puzzles me. It seems as if most serious accidents involving bikes in the region happen in Welland.
The few times I've been there I have enjoyed riding...however the second closest I've been passed was in Welland -- by a van doing at least 20km/h OVER the speed limit.
Perhaps it's coincidence, but every time I am there I see loads of people on bikes, but the city lacks proper infrastructure.
