U.K. TV network sponsors summer of cycling

Sponsored by the British broadcasting group Sky and promoted via British Cycling, the Sky Rides are a series of bicycle-friendly events throughout the summer to promote cycling in the U.K.

I suspect that a lot of politicians feel that cycling is already a "big deal" in Britian and doesn't require much support. But national support for something doesn't often just "happen," it takes work, publicity and money to make it happen.
