A valiant comeback by the Rangers ended with an overtime loss to Oshawa on Teddy Bear Toss night at the Aud.
Even more disappointing, for the team, was the loss of top centre Riley Damiani, who was suspended for five games by the Ontario Hockey League for accidentally shooting the puck into the crowd.
"It was not intentional," Rangers coach Jay McKee said. "It went up over the net while he was standing in the crease. I don't think he could do it again if he tried.
"I don't think he did what the suspension was put in place for and that's where players will fire a puck over the glass purposely. It was after an empty-net goal and it may have been in frustration but a lot of times guys will fire a puck back into the net. I think that's what his intent was."
