Gee where will it all end.
A prominent citizen actually punished for harming cyclists with a car. Obviously we don't know all the facts yet but I can't help wondering if Michael Bryant is a bit more nervous today.

hey i agree with you about more bycles on the road but i disagree with you totally about using the lane . their are enough idiots on the road now and just provoking them is wrong there should be bike lanes. it's bad enough driving in winter with the slippery roads and just trying to see the lane lines without having to worry about some guy on a bike in front of you,and worried about if you can stop in time or his bike will slip out from under him which i have seen happen.there are bike paths are around the city which are just as fast getting to one part of the city as driving the roads and maybe even faster using the paths. there enough idiots on the road now lets give the idiots another reason to commit road rage, that makes a whole lotta sense. and if someone gets hit driving the middle of the road because of what you said i hope you sleep well after something happens.

I am afraid I disagree with you David. By all means give way when you can to faster road users but there are many places in these cities where you simply must take the lane (or at least a good chunk of it) else you will be squeezed out regardless of the season. As long as you are reasonable about it, I find that most drivers are accomodating.

  • North America is eventually going to figure out that, for all the right reasons, we need more bicycles on our roads. Dust off your bicycle and go cycling. And if the gas-burning dinosaurs start to crowd you, it's your road and you paid for it. Take the lane for yourself.
